Matt started his career at Royal Bank of Canada in London, England, working his way up to portfolio manager in the investment management team. He then moved to the US and spent 8 years as a Global Commodity Analyst at Schneider Electric / Summit Energy, before becoming Director of Commodity Research at ClipperData for 6 years, leading a team of analysts across a variety of energy commodities. Matt joined Kpler in September 2021 as Lead Analyst, Americas, and is focused on producing research and providing counsel to key clients on the energy market. Sumit Ritolia is Lead Analyst for Refining Supply and Modelling at Kpler with over a decade of expertise in refining operations, supply planning, and downstream economics. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, India. Before Kpler, Sumit spent 7.5 years at ONGC specialising in hydrocarbon value chain optimisation and supply chain management, then nearly two years at S&P Global Commodity Insights as Refinery Economist focusing on market fundamentals, margin modelling, and refining outlooks. Since April 2024, he has led analytical coverage on refining supply-demand dynamics and regional capacity trends at Kpler's downstream insight team. He is based in Gurgaon, India.

Michelle Brouhard is the Head of Policy and Geopolitical Risk at Kpler, with over 20 years of experience trading global oil, natural gas, and power markets. Her work sits at the intersection of policy and markets, where she has expressed geopolitical and sanctions risk directly through portfolio construction, positioning, and risk management. She recently completed a Master’s in Global Policy at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where her work focused on energy security, climate policy, and economic competitiveness within the Energy Trilemma framework.
