Reid joined Kpler over six years ago as a crude analyst and has grown alongside the company ever since. Based in Houston, Reid has a near decade of experience studying the intersection between global demand conditions and the state of commodity markets with a particular focus on emerging markets. Before joining Kpler, Reid obtained a masters degree in Economics from the University of Houston. He also holds a bachelors degree in Finance. You will regularly find him quoted in the financial press or appearing on tv to provide timely updates on the state of commodity markets across the globe.

Laura joined Kpler in July 2021 and is leading the build-out of the natural gas and LNG Insight service, which has comprehensive coverage of LNG, European and US natural gas market fundamentals, as well as JKM, TTF and Henry Hub price forecasts. She has been analysing commodity markets for over 12 years, covering a broad range of markets including metals, fertilisers, European power and LNG. Laura has been focusing on LNG markets since 2015, working at Argus Media as Deputy Editor of the LNG Daily report and at Refinitiv (now LSEG) as Lead LNG analyst. Laura is based in London and holds a BA and MSc in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Alexis joined Kpler’s Insight Team in March 2023 as Lead Major Dry Bulks Analyst. Based in London, he brings over a decade of experience in dry bulk commodities and freight research. He leads the development of Kpler’s dry bulks research offering, covering coal, fertiliser, grain, iron ore, minor bulks, and dry freight. His work spans market analysis, supply-demand and pricing outlooks, client presentations, industry speaking engagements, and supporting the growth of Kpler’s dry bulks data products. Previously, he was a Director at Simpson Spence Young (SSY) in the Consultancy & Research team.

After completing his PhD in Petroleum Geology at the Montanuniversity Leoben, Johannes joined JBC Energy as a crude analyst in February 2021, where he oversaw the firm’s in-house supply model. At the time, Johannes began his PMBA in Energy Management, which he completed in 2022. Johannes is now part of the wider crude analysis team at Kpler, and covers the latest market trends and provides research on supply, demand, and flows of various regions, including OPEC+, Asia, and North America. He is currently based in Vienna, Austria.
