Sushmita Vazirani

Sushmita joined the Kpler Insight Team in June 2026. Based in India, she leads the development and expansion of the iron ore and steel insight offering at Kpler. 

Sushmita  has over eight years of research experience in the metals and mining space, specialising in bulk commodities - iron ore, steel, DRI and coal. Her work spans markets and cost forecasting, trade modelling, M&A and decarbonisation tracking. 

Before joining Kpler, Sushmita was a Principal Analyst for Bulk Commodities at Wood Mackenzie for ~4 years. She has a prior stint at CRISIL (S&P Global) as their Senior Steel and Iron Ore Analyst for India. 

Sushmita holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM Indore) and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from University of Mumbai.
